David Shirt has been in Japan for a total of 17 of the last 24 years and has worked in the equity market throughout at institutions such as JP Morgan Securities, Jefferies Japan and lately Macquarie Capital Securities Japan Limited.
In 2004 he became Head of sales at JP Morgan Securities in Japan and Head of Equity in 2009. Later in 2014 David became the Branch Manager and Representative for Jefferies Japan, and from 2015 onwards he was employed as Country Head of Macquarie Capital Securities, Japan Limited.
David majored in Japanese at the University of Sheffield in the UK and is proficient in Japanese.
David Gibson (Gibbo) has a wealth of experience in the equity business.
He joins Astris Advisory from Macquarie Capital Securities Japan where he held a number of roles over 18 years in both the US and Japan. His last role was that of Head of Research in Tokyo where he managed a team of 20 people, and he combined that with covering game software, media and Internet stocks, including Nintendo, SoftBank and Start Today amongst many others.
David has fund management experience having worked for HSBC Asset Management and National Mutual Funds Management, both in Australia, before joining Macquarie USA in 2000.
Before joining Astris Advisory Japan, Masahiro Mochizuki worked for Credit Suisse as a sell-side analyst from 2006 to 2019. Before Credit Suisse, he worked as a buy-side analyst for Daiwa SB Investment. He has 15 years experience as the securities analyst of the real estate, construction and housing sectors. He has been ranked in analyst awards from Institutional Investors, Nikkei Analyst ranking and Thomson Reuters. He is a member of Corporate Disclosure Study Group of the construction, housing and real estate sector. He graduated from Keio University, BA of Economics.
Michael has held sell side roles in quantitative and fundamental research stretching back 15 years. He has held roles at Lehman Brothers Securities in Tokyo and Nomura Securities in Hong Kong. He was most recently at Jefferies. His goal is to build value added quantitative models that become key components of the clients investment process. He graduated with a MBA from the University of Toronto and is a CFA charterholder.
Taiki Kimura has held the role of distributing alternative products at institutions including Nomura, Barclays, Citi and Macquarie. In 2012 Taiki became Head of Pension Solutions at Citi Global Market, and in 2015 he became Head of Japan for Macquarie Investment Management.
He also has experience working in structured products and asset finance division of Nomura's New York office. Taiki graduated from Hitotsubashi University with a major in economics.
Kumiko brings 12+ years of IR advisory and arrangement experience at J.P. Morgan Securities Japan and UBS Securities Japan.
Her expertise in event execution is based on her carrier background at an aviation company and a rating company.
She is a multilingual speaker (Japanese, English, Spanish and Chinese) .
Keiichiro has been in the financial industry for more than 25 years including Salomon Brothers, Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch, Citigroup where he has experienced in various department such as Operations, Technology, Finance and numerous roles as a Compliance officer. He has also helped foreign financial firm set up their business in Tokyo.
After graduating from Aoyama Gakuin, Shuji Iwase spend more than 30 years in corporate banking at National Westminster Bank, ABN Amro amongst others. Before joining Astris Advisory Japan as Chief Administration Officer, Shuji was employed at the Royal Bank of Scotland, Tokyo Branch as a compliance officer
